Master
The Master's degree programme comprises compulsory and elective courses. In addition, there are two mandatory semester papers in the form of group project work. On conclusion of the course, students write a Master’s thesis in their final semester which leads to the degree.
The ETH Zurich awards successful students the degree of "Master of Science ETH in Geomatics".
Students compile an individual curriculum together with their tutor which ensures solid academic training with relevance to practice, and also takes into account the expectations and talents of the individual student.
The Master’s degree programme is a full-time programme comprising 120 ECTS credits. It normally takes two years. The degree request must be made no later than four years after studies began.
One academic year at ETH comprises two semesters, each lasting 14 weeks.
The language of instruction is English. This means that courses are generally taught in English, in particular this is guaranteed for all compulsory courses. However, please note that the range of elective courses includes courses which are partially in German and partially in English. Specifically, some subjects in the area of planning with a strong connection to Swiss engineering practice may be held in German.
