Alexander Puzrin on the legacy of Robert Häfeli

To kick off the "Time Capsule Series" of the Swiss Geotechnical Society, D-BAUG Professor Alexander Puzrin follows the footsteps of Robert Häfeli (1898-1978). In 1935, the civil engineer founded the Soil Mechanics Laboratory at ETH Zurich, which later became the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering. Häfeli’s pioneering research in the field of soil and snow mechanics and his stabilization work on the Leaning Tower of St. Moritz keep inspiring new generations of ETH scientists to date.
