Hello, my name is Emily Cano. I am currently 15 years old, turning 16 years old this summer. I love doing sports in my free time and spending time in nature. Since I was a little girl I have been interested in science. I did have some trouble deciding on what to do, but once I heard, that there was an opening as a lab assistant I knew I wanted to do that. So choosing this apprenticeship was a pretty clear choice for me. Even though it took some time to adjust to all the changes, I am doing well now.

I came to do my apprenticeship at ETH because it sounded very promising and interesting. On top of that there were a lot of benefits coming with it. Also, I knew that there would be good structure to it and that I would definitely get a good education. Right now I am working in the Claylab at the Institute for Geotechnics. I’m still learning some of the basics and am looking forward to working with my team for the rest of this year.

After my apprenticeship I will most likely do the BMS. From there on out I might try and find a job or maybe even go to university. But until then I still have some time to figure it out and to think about my future.
