Eleni Chatzi promoted to full professor
At its meeting on 11 and 12 July, the ETH Board appointed and promoted several professors at the request of ETH President Joël Mesot, including Professor Eleni Chatzi of the Institute of Structural Engineering.
Professor Eleni Chatzi (*1981), currently Associate Professor at ETH Zurich, as Full Professor of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering. Eleni Chatzi is an internationally highly regarded scientist in the field of structural mechanics and monitoring. Her research interests lie in the fields of structural health monitoring, hybrid modelling and data-driven evaluation of technical systems. The main focus of her research is on civil infrastructure, although its fundamental orientation means it has considerably wider scope. Eleni Chatzi has a patent pending and has received numerous awards, including an ERC Starting Grant for her pioneering wind energy project. At ETH Zurich her significant achievements include building up an outstanding interdisciplinary research group. Congratulations!
