Talks online: DSML Speed Dating

In fall 2020, D-BAUG scientists launched the collaboration platform "Data Science and Machine Learning" (DSML). The aim of this interdisciplinary initiative is to strengthen data science approaches in the field of engineering and to highlight opportunities for cooperation. Recently, the initiative held its first speed dating event, where DSML-related research projects were presented and discussed.

On April 28, 2021, DSML@DBAUG held its first speed dating event, where 13 young scientists from seven institutes presented ongoig research projects.

The three-minute "rapid-fire" presentations covered a wide range of topics and illustrated the variety of potential applications of DSML algorithms - including earthquake detection, geospatial data analysis, drone tracking, remote sensing, transportation modeling, and intelligent maintenance, to name just a few examples.

Subsequent to the presentation sessions, lively discussions ignited with the audience in several breakout rooms. If you missed the event, you can now access some of the recorded talks and check out the event schedule below to learn more about DSML-related research at D-BAUG.
