Invitation to the opening of Design++

On 27 May 2021, a new center for augmented computational design in architecture, civil engineering and construction will open on Hönggerberg campus. Commonly referred to as Design++, the center aims to make construction more sustainable and efficient using digital design tools and processes. Scientists from D-BAUG played a leading role in the co-development of Design++. The public is cordially invited to attend the virtual opening.

The interdisciplinary center Design++ brings together scientists from three different fields: Civil Engineering, Architecture and Computer Science. The opening event will provide detailed information on the different research perspectives as well as a presentation of the actual core of the research center, the Immersive Design Lab. In this lab of approx. 70m2, up to 20 people can work together on virtual designs.

From D-BAUG, there will be four scientists speaking at the opening: Robert Flatt, Daniel Hall, Walter Kaufmann and Michael Kraus. Several more D-BAUG professors are part of the Design++ research network: Eleni Chatzi, David Kammerer, Andreas Taras and Andreas Wieser.
