Corona video diary from D-BAUG with Prof. Thomas Vogel (8.5.2020)
To Prof. Thomas Vogel, Department Head of D-BAUG, it is clearly ETH Zurich’s strong network of international links, as one of the main reasons, that has allowed the University to react so quickly and professionally to the Corona pandemic.
Vogel continues in saying that it was because of the ETH outstation in Singapore and the ETH Supercomputing Centre in the Ticino that the unfolding crisis could be recognized earlier and in a more serious manner. Many scientist, out of true concern, thus engaged in the public debate early and more actively than usual, also to shake up politicians.
Thomas Vogel finds positive aspects surrounding home office: He says he is able to practice working from home with a view to his upcoming retirement. Naturally, here and there, there is a need for new arrangements with my spouse, he says with a smile.
