Corona video diary from D-BAUG at ETH Zurich with Kay Axhausen (24.4.2020)

For Kay Axhausen, the lockdown is also an exciting time: as a traffic planner, he is investigating the influence of initial restrictions on the mobility behavior of the population. The surprising finding is that people are travelling much more by bicycle - probably also because of the fine weather of the last few weeks.

In the new corona video diary from D-BAUG, he also reveals how the epidemiologists could improve their propagation models with the help of traffic planners. And he is convinced that the current easing measures would have to be steered close to the wind: the individual exit steps from the lockdown should be continuously assessed with regard to their impact on the epidemiological situation.

Not only better propagation models could contribute to this, but also the investigation of a large random sample of the population, in order to finally get a better picture of the pandemic.
