Eleni Chatzi receives the 2020 Walter L. Huber Research Prize

Eleni Chatzi, Chair of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring at the Institute of Structural Engineering, has been selected by ASCE’s Committee on Technical Advancement to receive the 2020 Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize, considered the highest-level mid-career research prize in civil engineering, for "seminal contributions to enable the vision of self-aware infrastructure".

The ceremony will take place during the ASCE’s 2021 Engineering Mechanics Institute (EMI) Conference, May 25-May 28, New York.

Eleniu Chatzi, Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize 2020

The external pageWalter L. Huber Civil Engineering Prize, which was founded in 1946, is awarded to members of the ASCE in any grade for notable achievements in research related to civil engineering. The Huber Prize is awarded annually to a few researchers across all civil engineering disciplines. Preference is given to younger members (generally under 40 years of age) of early accomplishment who can be expected to continue fruitful careers in research.
